About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Tunnel Navigation was established in 2020 with the aim of creating youth facilities in and around South Africa that provides Soft Skills, Tutor, Mentorship and Leisure activities to all of the youth needing Navigation through the Tunnel of Transformation

Purpose
Our youth and learners at schools are currently influenced by their parents, teachers, community and society. The community and society has an impact on the parents and the socio-economic status of the household our youth grows up. Most parents in the poorest communities has not received education, soft skills, parenting workshops on how to best serve, teach and train their children and youth for life’s challenges. Parents have tried to raise their children and youth to the best of their ability but the influence from society and community hugely impacts the exposure and experiences the youth face day to day.
For some, gangsterism has become the only option. These gangs give our youth a sense of belonging, direction and acceptance into an available group of thinking and actions that showcases material rewards for those that participate. Money, Cars, Clothes, Sex, Power and sense of belonging attracts our youth into these groups as it appears to be the Only Way for some!
The Youth that chooses a different path or survive these tragedies in their communities, like going to study and becoming something, often Do Not return to those communities to became Mentors to the youth. The youth that stay behind suffer from a limited thinking of societal and community accepted norms and therefore never truly expose themselves to become more than the limitation of perception from other community members.
The limited exposure to soft skills within these communities creates a limited thinking and limited mind, which in turn creates limited behavior and actions.
The Tunnel as we see it is part of the Identity Vs Role Confusion our youth has to go through as part of life. Kind of like an initiation or going to the bush for some cultures. It’s the passage that our youth has
to go through as part of their soul search to become a man or a woman. The passage are filled with traps, loop holes, crime, darkness, drugs, sex, murder, theft, etc. The tunnel is meant to be a passage of experience for our youth, develop their character and come out on the other side a new and transformed individual.
The challenge that we face is that many of our youth get stuck in the tunnel due to the lack of knowledge and skills to survive. Parents let go of their hand once they start acting out, which makes them more vulnerable to the vultures that has now made the Tunnel passage their home. Their goal is to steal, rob, use our youth to their benefit and once they have achieved that, they move on to the next one.
The tunnel is unfortunately a passage all our youth has to go through and for some it is much easier than others and for some the period within the tunnel is shorter than others.
The purpose of this organization is to equip our youth with the skills and tools (Backpack if I may) before they go into the Tunnel. We further want to upskill the parents to possess the same skills, but carry with them sharpening tools for their children in the Tunnel. Then finally upskill the teachers to teach with the Tunnel Navigation tool in mind.
Tunnel Navigation NPO believes that through exposing our youth and learners to soft skills, together with collaborating between Parents, Teachers and Learners we would be able to provide the guidance and support our youth needs to Navigated through the Tunnel of Transformation.
